Strategic Project Lead -- Demand Side -- Client Acq.
Job Description
Job DescriptionStrategic Project Lead — Demand Side On behalf of our client · San Francisco, CA (in person) · Full-time · No sponsorship
The build: Our client is building a talent marketplace that connects exceptional candidates with ambitious companies — and the network effects are starting to compound. They're hiring a Strategic Project Lead to own and scale the demand side: the companies hiring through them. This isn't a traditional sales role. You'll own the full journey from prospecting startup leaders to onboarding clients, driving their success, and turning what works into a repeatable growth engine. Work directly with the founders, with real freedom to experiment — and a clear path to GM.
What you'll do
- Own company acquisition end to end — prospect identification, first conversations, onboarding, activation.
- Build trusted relationships with founders, executives, and talent leaders at high-growth startups.
- Deeply understand each company's hiring needs and translate them into successful searches.
- Work across outbound, referrals, partnerships, events, and content to generate qualified demand.
- Personally execute the work — cold calling, outbound sequences, events, highly personalized outreach.
- Create compelling email and LinkedIn campaigns that consistently start conversations.
- Experiment fast with new messaging, channels, segments, and commercial models.
- Turn winning experiments into measurable, repeatable processes the company can scale.
- Partner with talent and product teams on matching quality, client experience, and marketplace liquidity.
- Track the full demand funnel, find bottlenecks, and own conversion improvements at every stage.
Requirements What we're looking for
- 1–2+ years in a client-facing, commercial, consulting, operations, or growth role.
- Experience in a demanding, fast-paced environment — venture-backed startup, management consulting, investment banking, or VC.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Strong relationship instincts; credibility with founders and senior leaders.
- Willingness to pick up the phone and hear "no" without losing momentum.
- Highly analytical, experimental approach to growth.
- Comfort across strategy and execution — design the GTM motion, then send the first hundred messages.
- Ability to create structure from ambiguity and solve unfamiliar problems without hand-holding.
- High ownership, urgency, and ambition to build from an early stage.
Logistics: San Francisco, CA, on-site. US work authorization required — no sponsorship.
