Your responsibilities
- Provide preventive/general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting and corrective actions to analytical and metallographic instrumentation.
- Perform new instrumentation installations as well as updates and upgrade kit installations.
- Provide training on theory, operation, software, and good maintenance practices.
- Ensure the work above is performed in accordance with LECO’s ISO accreditation.
Territory, travel, and schedule
- Full Time: Remote, salaried position with travel.
- Primary service area comprised of one or more of the following states: Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania with travel to surrounding regions on an as-needed basis.
- Ideal home base near Erie, PA; also considering locations along the I-90 corridor between Cleveland, OH & Buffalo, NY.
- Travel up to 5 days per week; more extensive travel on an as-needed basis.
Training and development
- Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 3-5 months.
- Complete field service training with experienced field service engineers throughout the country.
- Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan.
What you need to succeed
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Adhere to customer’s site and safety requirements while conducting yourself in a professional manner.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday – Friday).
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong mechanical skills, and previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn.
- Chemistry or military background is advantageous, but not required.
Education
- Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School; or
- Prior Military with training in a technical field; or
- Equivalent work experience or training in a technical field.
