We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Inspector to support quality operations within our thermoforming manufacturing environment. This position will perform detailed inspections of products, components, subassemblies, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established dimensional and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in precision manufacturing inspection, including blueprint interpretation, GD&T, CMM operation/programming, and the use of precision measurement equipment. Previous plastics or thermoforming experience is beneficial but not required; training on our plastics processes will be provided to the right candidate with a strong quality and metrology background.

Responsibilities:

Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections on parts, subassemblies, assemblies, and finished products.

Inspect components to close tolerances using established inspection criteria, procedures, specifications, and quality standards.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.

Operate precision measuring instruments and gauges, including calipers, micrometers, micro-height gauges, optical comparators, and CMM equipment.

Create and/or modify CMM inspection programs as needed.

Complete and maintain required inspection and quality documentation.

Work with AS9102 documentation and First Article Inspection requirements.

Identify product defects and nonconformances and communicate required corrections to production.

Work closely with production personnel to ensure established quality standards are consistently met.

Develop an understanding of thermoforming processes, materials, secondary operations, and common product defects.

Follow applicable SOPs, GMP requirements, quality procedures, and company policies.

Maintain inspection equipment and ensure work areas meet established housekeeping and safety standards.

Identify and report unsafe conditions, concerns, or hazards.

Support continuous improvement efforts related to product quality, inspection processes, and defect reduction.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality/inspection environment.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

Knowledge and practical application of GD&T.

Experience using precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height measurement equipment, optical comparators, and CMMs.

CMM programming experience strongly preferred.

Familiarity with CNC manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with AS9102 documentation and First Article Inspection.

Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards, inspection methods, and defect analysis.

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate quality concerns and required corrections to production.

Experience with thermoforming, injection molding, plastics manufacturing, secondary operations, materials, or plastics processing is a plus but not required.
