Job DescriptionMaintenance Technician – Production Equipment & Facilities

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician in Farmingdale, NY! This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys maintaining equipment, solving problems, and supporting daily production operations.

Location: Farmingdale, NY
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 11:30 AM–8:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp to hire

What You'll Do

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on designated production equipment.

• Respond to basic equipment repair requests, including equipment adjustments, component changes, and chemical changes as needed.

• Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues affecting production equipment.

• Assist with general building and grounds maintenance, including rooftop filtration systems and HVAC equipment.

• Support laboratory and production teams by helping keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

• Communicate equipment status, maintenance needs, and repair updates to production personnel, coworkers, and management.

• Learn equipment functions, operating procedures, and production processes.

• Follow established maintenance procedures, company policies, and safety requirements.

• Support overtime and schedule adjustments as needed.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• At least one year of related maintenance experience or training preferred.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.

• Familiarity with tools and electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters and amp meters, is a plus.

• Basic HVAC or refrigeration knowledge is helpful.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to read and follow maintenance instructions, safety rules, and written procedures.

• Strong problem-solving skills, dependability, and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds at waist height as required.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to climb ladders up to 20 feet and work on elevated platforms.

• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work around machinery and chemicals.

• Comfortable working in a production environment with varying noise levels and occasional outdoor maintenance responsibilities.

Pay Details: $19.00 per hour
