Terms of Employment:
- Employment Type: W2 Contract, 12 months
- Location: This position is hybrid. The selected candidate must work onsite in Reston, VA once per week, with occasional meetings in Washington, D.C. The remaining work can be performed remotely.
- Candidate must reside in DMV area
Overview:
- Work with a premier organization in the healthcare industry to spearhead high-impact cloud migration initiatives. As a Lead Systems/Platform Engineer, you will actively transition complex on-premise applications to AWS, utilizing containerized environments (EKS) and cloud-native solutions. You will be responsible for building, automated provisioning, and deep infrastructure troubleshooting, ensuring highly secure environments that empower next-generation Gen AI application capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision, configure, and automate cloud infrastructure across development, testing, and production environments using reusable Terraform modules.
- Architect and provision reliable infrastructure pipelines to support advanced AI and Gen AI services, explicitly utilizing AWS Bedrock, Kendra, and Sagemaker.
- Partner with application development and enterprise architecture teams to interpret technical layout documentation and execute deployments.
- Conduct deep-dive technical troubleshooting on platform environments to isolate and resolve complex configuration, network, and system faults.
- Collaborate closely with legacy on-premise infrastructure and networking teams to maintain seamless hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Enforce rigid data security controls to ensure continuous compliance with strict healthcare industry mandates, including PHI and PII protection.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience.
- At least 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience managing and engineering core AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Possession of at least one active, validated AWS Certification.
- Advanced expertise in containerization utilizing AWS EKS and infrastructure automation with Terraform.
- Strong proficiency in hybrid networking troubleshooting, routing, and cloud-to-on-prem connectivity.
- Absolute geographical proximity and willingness to complete a final round interview in person and work on-site 1 day per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior engineering experience working within the Healthcare industry or heavily regulated sectors dealing with PHI/PII data security frameworks.
- Direct background provisioning or supporting infrastructure tailored specifically for AI workloads, machine learning models, or automated indexing tools.
