Location: Sycamore, IL & surrounding counties.
Pay: $80K salary (DOE) + Bonuses / Commissions & Benefits!
Type: Full time permanent employment
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and secure new commercial and industrial electrical project opportunities
- Build and strengthen relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, facility managers, municipalities, and end users
- Identify leads, pursue opportunities, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
- Participate in networking events, industry associations, and market outreach activities to drive growth
- Prepare proposals, budgets, presentations, and negotiate project solutions
- Support strategic account development and expand repeat business opportunities
- Represent Swedberg Electric professionally while promoting the company's reputation for quality workmanship and customer service
Project Management & Execution
- Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from award through closeout
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Manage project financial performance, cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Lead project meetings, progress updates, and client communication
- Review contracts, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, and change orders
- Oversee procurement, material planning, and manpower coordination
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Support company initiatives related to safety, training, and compliance
- Drive client satisfaction while maintaining strong margins and project performance
Preconstruction & Estimating Support
- Assist with estimating takeoffs and scope development as needed
- Participate in bid reviews, conceptual budgeting, and value engineering efforts
- Support project handoff and preconstruction planning activities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction, project management, business development, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems and project delivery
- Experience managing projects while supporting client development and sales growth
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and estimates
- Proven success in client relationship management and project execution
- Strong financial acumen related to project budgets, forecasting, and profitability
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Self-driven professional with both operational and entrepreneurial mindset
- Estimating or electrical contracting background preferred
- Experience working in an IBEW union environment strongly preferred
