Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the Operations Manager in the comprehensive repair, upkeep, and safety of the facility. This hands-on role ensures that the building, grounds, and mechanical equipment remain in top working condition. The technician will handle a wide variety of tasks—ranging from plumbing and electrical repairs to landscaping and custodial support—and may also provide temporary assistance to warehouse or production departments during special assignments.
Key Responsibilities

Create and submit reports on maintenance, repairs, safety issues, and other occurrences to the Operations and General Managers.

Perform minor plumbing repairs (fixtures, lawn sprinklers, small diameter piping) and electrical fixes (outlets, switches, light bulb replacements).

Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, including rolling stock (forklifts, pallet jacks), HVAC filters, door mechanisms, and powered tools.

Execute structural repairs across the building, including floors, walls, ceilings, drywall, painting, roofs, and gutters.

Maintain landscaping and grounds via mowing, trimming, weed/brush control, pressure washing, and trash pickup.

Provide custodial support for offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and windows, while handling rodent and insect monitoring.

Secure the facility by confirming outside doors are locked after operating hours.

Support specific warehouse and production tasks or other maintenance duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Basic ability to safely use electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and landscaping tools/power equipment.

Foundational understanding of facility mechanics, including reading and interpreting equipment operation manuals and diagrams.

Basic computer skills (MS Office, online searches) and functional math skills for carpentry.

Understanding of proper chemical handling for painting, cleaning, and grounds care, as well as strict adherence to PPE safety rules.

Effective written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.

Reliable transportation.

Ability to meet physical demands: walking, bending, stooping, balancing, crawling, and reaching for extended periods; lifting up to 50 pounds; and working comfortably at heights of up to 30 feet.
Ideal Qualifications

Prior working experience as a maintenance technician, groundskeeper, or in a similar occupation.
