Janitorial Manager
A Janitorial Manager oversees all daily commercial cleaning activities and daily operations, ensuring facilities remain sanitary, well-maintained, safe, compliant, and up to OSHA and other state and local compliance.
They manage on-site custodial staff, conduct quality control inspections, control supply inventory, and serve as the primary liaison between the cleaning company and client partners.
Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Oversee daily cleaning and maintenance activities, including floor care, restroom sanitation, and trash removal, ensuring compliance with contract specifications.
- Quality & Safety Control: Conduct routine facility inspections, manage quality monitoring programs, and enforce OSHA safety regulations and chemical handling procedures.
- Staff Leadership: Supervise, train, evaluate, and schedule cleaning personnel, including supervisors and lead custodians.
- Client Relations: Act as the main point of contact for client partners to troubleshoot issues, address complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Financial Administration: Track labor variance, manage supply inventory, approve payroll, and control operational costs to maintain intended profit margins.
- Business Development: Identify and estimate costs for providing additional or periodic services to existing clients
