Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a well-rounded Facilities Technician with 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining mills, lathes, hydraulic systems, compressors, industrial electrical systems, sensors, PLC/motherboards, and other production equipment.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment, facility utilities, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, pneumatic equipment, and building infrastructure. The successful candidate will support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and minimal production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules for new equipment and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Diagnose recurring equipment failures and recommend long-term corrective solutions
Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems
• Repair and maintain mills, lathes, pumps, motors, compressors, heavy manufacturing equipment, and hydraulic presses
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, proportional valves, and related components
• Assemble and maintain hydraulic equipment while ensuring systems are properly flushed and contamination-free before startup
Electrical & Controls
• Read and interpret advanced electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and blueprints
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, ammeters, and other diagnostic equipment
• Diagnose electrical faults involving control panels, safety circuits, sensors, motors, voltage drops, and electronic components
• Maintain industrial electrical wiring in compliance with applicable codes and safety standards
Facilities & Utilities
• Maintain air compressors, air dryers, gas systems, HVAC equipment, plumbing, vacuum systems, water systems, alarm systems, and facility utilities
• Install and repair structural and functional equipment components throughout the facility
Safety & Continuous Improvement
• Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies
• Participate in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and High-Performance Team initiatives
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and return tools to designated locations
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately
Documentation & Training
• Complete work orders, maintenance records, labor reports, and repair documentation accurately and on time
• Train machine operators on daily autonomous maintenance tasks such as inspections, fluid checks, and cleaning procedures
• Stay current on industry best practices through ongoing technical training and professional development
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Vocational, Technical School, or Trade School Diploma required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience maintaining production machinery, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and plant utilities
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and industrial maintenance practices
Preferred Qualifications
• Forklift Certification preferred
• Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts (Genie/JLG), or similar mobile equipment preferred
Required Skills
• Preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM)
• Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting (240V/480V systems)
• Reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, and blueprints
• Mechanical repairs on mills, lathes, compressors, pumps, and motors
• PLC controls, sensors, and electrical motion control systems
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
• Frequently lift up to 20 lbs.; regularly lift and carry 20–50 lbs.
• Assist with team lifts up to 150 lbs. when required
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders
• Ability to work around moving machinery, heat, humidity, dust, and manufacturing equipment
