Job Description
A Senior Superintendent in construction is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for large or complex projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations on construction projects
- Supervise superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Coordinate project schedules, sequencing, and site logistics
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety programs
- Conduct site inspections and quality control reviews
- Monitor project progress and resolve field issues quickly
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients
- Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate trades
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Track manpower, equipment, and material needs
- Ensure work complies with building codes and contract requirements
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and daily logs
- Support budgeting, cost control, and schedule management
