Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
- Identify markets where client technologies could offer a compelling value proposition that can solve problems in a highly differentiated and valuable way
- Develop specific RWW statements
- Work with regional management to gain buy-in for the market exploration
- Perform market evaluation of the target market and either validate the VP and RWW via repeat production POs or recommend stopping pursuit of the market
- Lead initial evaluation and validation of technologies to key customer specifications
- Transition successful RWW to permanent account managers
- Collaborate regionally and globally to develop product and sales strategy and tactics
Key activities and deliverables for this position include:
- Develop and present value proposition to potential customers
- Maintain effective internal communication
- Interface with R&D and PD to test and validate initial prototypes to technical requirements for supporting early RWW assessments
- Participate in quote efforts, including establishing all inputs required to effectively develop costs and establish pricing, as well as delivering and presenting quotes
- Work along side Business Development Manager to obtain customer commitments (purchase orders)
- Participate in and/or coordinate with Program Managers as appropriate for gate reviews
- Participate in developing our product strategy by identifying customer needs and by gathering and communicating competitive knowledge
- Actively participate in process improvement by participating in department and program meetings
- Experience in Aerospace preferred
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in a technically relevant discipline
- Minimum of 10 years Sales/Application Engineering Experience in a technical product environment
- Experience in one or all industries: Aerospace, Industrial or Sporting Goods
- Technical or Engineering Background
- Proactive communicator and collaborator
- Strong knowledge of client business model, culture and technologies
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, along with strong presentation skills
- Ability to maintain and develop new relationships; negotiating skills; ability to influence customer decisions
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail; financial management
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to travel
