Job Description

Job DescriptionShape Uptime. Power Productivity.

Location: Richmond, VA
Compensation: $31.87–$37.26 per hour, plus excellent benefits
Schedule: 40 hours per week, four 10-hour shifts; early AM and early PM start times. Flexibility may include some weekends and holidays.

What a day looks like

You arrive early, walk the line, and listen—machines tell a story if you know how to hear it. You scan trend data on drives and PLCs, peek at a gearbox you aligned last week, and slot in a quick PM before the first shift hits peak volume. A conveyor shows an intermittent fault—within minutes you’re tracing I/O, isolating the issue to a VFD parameter, and restoring flow. By mid-morning, you coach a junior tech through reading a schematic; by afternoon, you’re logging work, coordinating parts, and partnering with operations to lift overall equipment effectiveness.

Your impact

  • Keep people safe by following and reinforcing safety procedures; identify hazards and correct them.
  • Drive asset reliability with scheduled inspections, precision lubrication, alignment, and preventive tasks.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues quickly and accurately.
  • Collaborate across departments to minimize downtime and maximize OEE.
  • Document work thoroughly—repairs, inspections, PMs—and communicate findings.
  • Share expertise: mentor junior teammates and support cross-training.
  • Jump in on additional tasks as needs evolve.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications a plus.
  • 5+ years in industrial maintenance (manufacturing/industrial environment).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electro-mechanical principles.
  • Expertise in electrical troubleshooting, reading blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
  • Fluent with diagnostic/test equipment for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, PLC programming and troubleshooting, VFDs, MSPs, and automation hardware.
  • Proficiency across pneumatics and hydraulics, including troubleshooting and component repair.
  • Skilled with conveyors, gearboxes, rotating equipment, and precision alignment.
  • Comfort with predictive and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts; physically able to perform the role.
  • Clear communicator, team-oriented, energized by a fast-paced environment.
