Job Description Apex Placement & Consulting is seeking an experienced Stamping Press Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing client in Sterling Heights, MI. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment within an industrial stamping facility. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting experience and be comfortable responding quickly to equipment issues to minimize production downtime.

What your day will look like:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and hydraulic stamping presses ranging from 50 to 3,000 tons
- Perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
- Perform maintenance and repairs on HILOs/forklifts
- Maintain and repair air compressors
- Complete general building and facility maintenance
- Troubleshoot and maintain chillers
- Perform daily preventive maintenance activities
- Complete basic plumbing repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair specialty manufacturing equipment
- Perform maintenance and repairs on 3-axis vertical mills
- Assist with CO2 and fiber laser equipment; previous laser experience is a plus
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to support production and minimize downtime
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support operations
What your day will look like:
- 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting abilities
- Previous stamping press maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have own tools
- Must be able to work 10-hour shifts
- Must be willing to work weekends when needed
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent equipment issues
- Strong focus on safety, reliability, and preventive maintenance
