Maintenance Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Associate to oversee and maintain the daily physical condition of our property. In this role, you will handle hands-on routine repairs and facilities upkeep while also coordination with external specialized contractors when larger repairs or technical work are required. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong working knowledge of power and hand tools and a background in property maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Facilities Upkeep: Inspect property daily to identify, diagnose, and perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on buildings, fixtures, grounds, and common areas.
- Contractor Management: Identify complex repairs beyond standard scope, source contractor quotes, schedule appointments, and oversee vendor work to ensure quality and timely completion.
- Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain standard hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment to complete repair tasks.
- Work Order Processing: Respond promptly to incoming maintenance requests, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and keep clear records of completed work.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and workplace regulations. Ensure proper disposal of materials and keep working areas clean and hazard-free.
- Inventory Management: Track supplies, tools, and hardware; report low inventory to supervisor to ensure necessary items are ordered promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in property maintenance, facility upkeep, or general residential/commercial trades.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable and proficient in operating a wide range of hand and power tools (drills, saws, sanders, pressure washers, basic plumbing/carpentry tools).
- Skills: Working knowledge of basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, simple plumbing, and minor electrical fixtures.
- Vendor Coordination: Ability to communicate clearly with third-party vendors and contractors.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills, high attention to detail, and a self-motivated, dependable work ethic.
