Our client is a growing general contractor based in Mount Prospect, IL, with an established reputation for delivering high-quality federal and commercial construction projects. As their project pipeline continues to expand, they are looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to their team.

Responsibilities

    \n
  • Support Project Managers in managing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • \n

  • Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
  • \n

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, field teams, owners, architects, and engineers to support successful project delivery.
  • \n

  • Assist with managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
  • \n

  • Track project progress, deliverables, and outstanding items to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • \n

  • Assist with reviewing subcontractor and supplier invoices, commitments, and project costs.
  • \n

  • Support project forecasting, financial reporting, and budget tracking.
  • \n

  • Help monitor compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • \n

  • Assist with identifying project risks, resolving issues, and implementing solutions in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • \n

  • Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.
  • \n

  • Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Support the Project Manager and field team with day-to-day project coordination and administration.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

  • Experience in commercial construction, preferably in an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar role.
  • \n

  • Federal construction experience is highly preferred.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and project management principles.
  • \n

  • Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, project documentation, and client communications.
  • \n

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • \n

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • \n

  • Strong desire to grow into a Project Manager role and take on increasing responsibility.
