Job Title: Site Supervisor
Job Description
The Site Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations at industrial project locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution of installation work from project launch through completion. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customer representatives to keep projects on schedule, maintain accurate documentation, and deliver high-quality electrical and mechanical installations, particularly in conveyor and automation environments.
Responsibilities
- Run the day-to-day operations at the customer installation site, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans.
- Coordinate closely with the project manager on job budgets, schedules, progress reports, and cost reports to keep the project on track and within scope.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation that reflects actual project progress and site activities.
- Install electrical panels and integrate them with mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of subcontractors so they can perform their work effectively and safely, while aligning their tasks with overall project schedules and milestones.
- Integrate subcontractor work with project schedules and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of all phases.
- Regularly communicate with the customer’s on-site representatives, including preparing progress reports and issuing updates to project schedules.
- Keep all key stakeholders informed about job progress, upcoming plans, and any issues that could significantly affect project costs or schedules.
- Enforce project specifications and drive installation schedules to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
- Support site development and construction activities related to conveyor and automation installations.
Essential Skills
- Experience in construction within an industrial setting.
- Hands-on experience with conveyor installation in industrial environments.
- Experience with electrical installation, including installing electrical panels and integrating them with mechanical systems.
- Experience with mechanical installation in industrial or construction settings.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and read project schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project for scheduling and tracking project progress.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce specifications and drive schedules for installation work.
- Strong site management and site supervision skills, including coordination of subcontractors and field activities.
- Ability to prepare and deliver clear progress reports and documentation.
- High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction focused on industrial facilities, conveyors, or automation systems.
- Experience working on conveyor, construction, and site development projects.
- Familiarity with managing progress reports, cost reports, and schedule updates for complex projects.
- Comfort working closely with engineering teams and project managers in a structured project execution environment.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customer representatives.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-growing industry driven by e-commerce and automation upgrades.
Work Environment
This role supports industrial projects in large distribution and fulfillment centers, including automation and conveyor installations. Projects include work at regional distribution centers, such as an Amazon RDC in Lansing, MI, during defined project windows (for example, mid-July to mid-October). The work environment involves active construction and installation sites where electrical and mechanical systems are installed and integrated. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, project managers, and subcontractors, using tools such as Microsoft Project to manage schedules and progress. The organization follows a regional work center strategy that offers some flexibility in choosing where to live within supported regions. This is a Contract position based out of Lansing, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
