Junior Web Application Developer – JavaScript / SQL
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Position Type: Full-Time Contract – 9 Months
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: On-Site with Flex Schedule Available
Position Overview
The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is seeking a Junior Web Application Developer to support the development of a new Inspections application for the Consumer Protection Services Division.
The new application will allow agency field inspectors to collect agricultural inspection data through online forms, save information to a SQL database, and generate and store PDF documents.
The existing inspections system is scheduled to be decommissioned in Spring 2027, and the replacement application is being developed in-house. This position will provide hands-on development support to the project and will work closely with a lead developer who will provide mentoring and technical guidance.
The primary responsibility will be converting approximately 70 existing fillable PDF inspection documents into interactive HTML web forms that department inspectors will use for data collection.
The ideal candidate will have beginner-to-intermediate development experience with JavaScript and SQL, along with working knowledge of HTML and CSS. Experience with Python, Docker, Jinja, and Git/GitHub is a plus but can be learned on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert approximately 70 existing fillable PDF inspection documents into interactive HTML web forms
- Develop JavaScript functionality for collecting and processing inspector inputs
- Connect form data to a SQL database
- Develop functionality to save inspection data to the database
- Use Jinja templates to compile collected data into PDF documents
- Support the generation and storage of system-generated PDF documents
- Provide JavaScript development support for other project requirements as needed
- Troubleshoot application issues and assist with defect resolution
- Participate in testing and validation of web forms and application functionality
- Work with the lead developer and project team to keep development activities on schedule
- Participate in weekly project status meetings
- Follow established development and documentation practices
Required Skills

Contract Details
