Systems Engineer | Tampa, FL
Location: Rocky Point/Tampa, FL | Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 remote
Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $110K-$125K + up to 12% annual bonus
Must have requirements:
- 5+ years of server administration experience
- 5+ years of networking experience
- Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP experience
- Hands-on VMware and Hyper-V administration
- Failover Clustering and Azure experience
- Server and network infrastructure troubleshooting
- Security patching, software deployment, and endpoint management
- Backup and recovery experience, preferably with Veeam
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Associate’s degree and/or relevant technical training
Job Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineer designs, implements, secures, and supports enterprise infrastructure across corporate and manufacturing locations. This role provides Tier 2/3 support across server, network, virtualization, cloud, backup, and endpoint environments. The position also supports infrastructure projects and serves as a senior escalation resource for complex technical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provides Tier 2/3 support for complex server, virtualization, cloud, storage, backup, networking, and endpoint issues, including root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Administers Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VMware, failover clustering, storage, and infrastructure monitoring technologies.
- Manages enterprise endpoints, including security patching, software deployment, configuration compliance, reporting, and system imaging using KACE K2000.
- Administers Veeam backup and recovery services, monitors backup health, resolves failures, and validates recovery procedures.
- Manages and optimizes virtualized server environments, including capacity, performance, high availability, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.
- Supports corporate and manufacturing infrastructure, including system logs, UPS systems, hardware requirements, and plant technology projects.
- Serves as a senior escalation resource, provides technical guidance and mentoring, and assists with infrastructure projects.
- Participates in an on-call rotation approximately once per month, with additional support as needed when complex issues are escalated.
