Overview
Join our dynamic security team as an Unarmed Security Guard and play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our Licensed Cannabis Dispensaries. Please Note: this is NOT a smoke shop, it is a Licensed Cannabis Dispensary. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access points, Verifying identification and ensuring the safety of all personnel and visitors. Your proactive approach and keen attention to detail will help prevent incidents and respond effectively to emergencies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your security skills while contributing to a secure community atmosphere.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility using CCTV surveillance systems and physical inspections to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security risks
- Control access points by verifying credentials, performing background checks, and managing visitor sign-in procedures with professionalism and courtesy
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security breaches, including operating AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and Taser devices if required
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches with clarity and accuracy
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies while adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incident management efforts, providing necessary information and support
- Enforce compliance with security regulations through vigilant patrolling, access control management, and conflict de-escalation techniques
Requirements
- Our Security Detail must have the ability to be courteous to guests entering the location.
- Weekend and holiday availability are a MUST for this position.
- Punctuality is an absolute MUST for this position.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, access control systems, and emergency response procedures
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently; certification preferred but not mandatory
- Physical fitness to handle manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged patrolling; capable of standing or walking for extended periods
- Strong communication skills for incident report writing, conflict management, and customer service interactions
