Job Description

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities

Lead the AHJ permitting process, including submission of structural and electrical engineering plan sets.
Coordinate with city planners and municipal officials to resolve zoning, planning, and environmental issues.
Manage utility interconnection processes, including NEM approvals and Interconnection Agreements.
Coordinate final inspections with city inspectors, fire marshals, and utility engineers to obtain Permission to Operate (PTO).
Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients, facility managers, and stakeholders.
Lead client progress meetings and communicate project milestones, changes, and expectations.
Coordinate facility access and construction logistics to minimize disruption to client operations.
Prepare and send AIA billing to customers or general contractors when required.
Conduct weekly project meetings and resolve project issues and setbacks.
Coordinate between sales, engineering, procurement, and field construction teams.
Lead internal design reviews with electrical and structural engineers.
Ensure project designs meet client requirements, applicable codes, and project constraints.
Hand off finalized design packages to field superintendents and construction foremen.
Communicate project bottlenecks, schedule changes, and deployment risks to leadership.
Manage multiple commercial solar projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Communications, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of commercial solar deployment/project management experience.
Strong experience with commercial solar permitting and utility interconnection.
Knowledge of local AHJ building departments and permitting processes.
Understanding of utility interconnection standards and NEM processes.
Experience coordinating engineering drawings and construction activities.
Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
