We are seeking a Senior VDI Platform Engineer to support the client's program. This role will lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing virtual desktop solutions. The ideal candidate will combine deep Azure Virtual Desktop expertise with strong automation, performance tuning, and cloud engineering skills.

Responsibilities
\n

- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
- Deploy and manage virtual desktops, host pools, application delivery, and multi-session Windows environments.
- Ensure the VDI platform is secure, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with business requirements.
- Manage Azure resources including networking, storage, identity, monitoring, and virtual machines.
- Develop and maintain Group Policies, user profiles, and security configurations.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and user experience using Azure monitoring tools.
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex virtual desktop, application delivery, and user access issues.
- Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and scripting tools.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to implement best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Support platform modernization initiatives and continuous service improvements.

Required Skills
\n

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience with VDI technologies and desktop virtualization.
- 3+ years of experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar cloud-based VDI platforms.
- Strong expertise with Azure Virtual Desktop, host pools, session hosts, and application virtualization.
- Experience with Azure services including Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, and Azure Monitor.
- Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 multi-session environments and Windows Server.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, and Group Policy administration.
- Knowledge of VDI security, identity management, Conditional Access, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, or SolarWinds.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Experience leading VDI projects from architecture and deployment through operational support.

Preferred Skills

- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, or other enterprise VDI platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including SAN and NAS solutions.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation practices.
- Exposure to container technologies and modern application delivery platforms.
- Experience supporting highly secure enterprise or government environments.
