We’re partnering with one of the best-known proprietary trading firms in the market to hire a senior C++ leader for its front-office trading technology group. This is a leadership hire. You’ll own the technical direction of the team and build it out over the next phase of growth.

The role
\n
You’ll lead a team of 6 engineers working directly alongside traders, with plans to grow it to 8+. You’ll set architecture and engineering standards and drive the build-out of high-performance, low-latency trading systems. You’ll stay close to the code, but your main job is to shape how the group designs, ships and scales its technology.

- Technical strategy and architecture for the trading platform, with a focus on latency, throughput and reliability
- Hiring, mentoring and developing the engineering team as it scales
- Working with trading leadership to turn strategy ideas into production systems quickly
- Engineering culture, code quality and delivery standards across the group

What they’re looking for
\n

- Expertise in modern C++ and high-performance system design
- A track record of leading engineers or owning the technical direction of a team or platform
- Experience in electronic trading, from either the buy side or sell side
- Credibility with traders and the commercial sense to prioritise what moves the P&L
- Asset class background is flexible. ETF experience isn’t required.
