Software Engineer - Network/SDWAN Development

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer with a Network/SDWAN Development focus to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize software solutions that power our SD-WAN platform and network infrastructure. You will work closely with network architects, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance networking software.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Design, develop, and maintain software components for SD-WAN platforms, network control planes, and data planes

\n

• Build and extend network management, orchestration, and automation systems

\n

• Implement and optimize network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VxLAN, IPSec, etc.) within software-defined environments

\n

• Develop and maintain Linux-based network applications, daemons, and kernel-level networking components

\n

• Write high-quality, testable code in Python, Go, C, or C++ for network-facing services

\n

• Collaborate on the design of RESTful APIs and gRPC services for network telemetry and device management

\n

• Debug and resolve complex network and software issues across distributed systems

\n

• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions

\n

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices

\n

• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for cloud-hosted SD-WAN deployments

Qualifications

\n

\n
• 5+ years of professional software development experience

\n

• Deep knowledge of Linux internals — networking stack, kernel modules, namespaces, cgroups, and system administration

\n

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, firewalling, VLANs

\n

• Solid grasp of routing concepts and protocols: BGP, OSPF, ECMP, route redistribution, policy-based routing

\n

• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies — overlay/underlay architectures, WAN optimization, traffic steering, zero-touch provisioning

\n

• Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, Go, C, or C++

\n

• Experience with VPN technologies: IPSec, GRE, SSL/TLS tunneling

\n

• Familiarity with NFV/SDN concepts: OpenFlow, DPDK, VPP, or similar data plane acceleration frameworks

\n

• Strong debugging skills using tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, iproute2, eBPF/BPF

\n

• Experience writing and reviewing RESTful APIs and working with API-driven infrastructure

\n

\n




Preferred Qualifications\n

\n
• Experience with SD-WAN vendor platforms (Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, Palo Alto Prisma, Fortinet, etc.) or open-source alternatives (OpenWRT, VyOS, pfSense)

\n

• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts: VPCs, transit gateways, cloud-native firewalls, direct connect

\n

• Experience with container networking (Kubernetes CNI, Calico, Cilium) and microservices architectures

\n

• Knowledge of gRPC, Protobuf, NETCONF/YANG, or OpenConfig for network device management

\n

• Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar for network telemetry

\n

• Background in network security: Zero Trust, SASE, firewall policy management

\n

• Contributions to open-source networking projects (FRRouting, Bird, DPDK, etc.)

\n

• Relevant certifications: CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent

\n
