Intact’s Global Specialty Lines business spans across more than 20 verticals in four distinct markets: U.S., Canada, UK and Europe. The following opportunity is for our U.S. team.
The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Project Control Officer to join our IT team in our Canton, MA; Farmington, CT; or Raleigh, NC offices on a hybrid schedule. The Project Control Officer (PCO) provides project governance, operational and administrative support to ensure the successful planning, execution, and reporting of technology initiatives. Working closely with initiative leaders, project managers, business stakeholders and delivery teams, the PCO helps maintain project controls, governance standards, financial tracking, schedules and portfolio reporting.
The PCO serves as a key partner in driving project discipline by maintaining project documentation, monitoring project health, coordinating governance activities, tracking risks and dependencies, and providing timely reporting that enables informed decision-making. This role ensures projects adhere to PMO standards, delivery methodologies and organizational governance requirements. Some of the Project Control Officer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support Initiative Leaders and Project Managers in the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of technology initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource plans, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, and resource plans, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Support project financials, including budgets, forecasts, invoices, actual expenditures, and variance reporting.
- Coordinate project governance activities, including steering committees, status meetings, stage gate reviews, and executive reporting.
- Support project change control processes by documenting change requests, tracking approvals, and maintaining project baselines.
- Prepare monthly portfolio dashboards, KPI reporting, executive summaries, and project health metrics.
- Ensure project artifacts, documentation, and deliverables comply with PMO standards and governance requirements.
- Coordinate resource onboarding, access requests, meeting logistics, action items, and project communications.
- Maintain project information within portfolio management and delivery tools, including Clarity, Jira, Confluence, or other approved systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes, reporting, governance, and project management practices.
- Ability to travel occasionally as business needs require.
The expertise you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields or equivalent work experience required.
- 3-5 years of related work experience, with at least 1 year managing small to medium scale projects.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as Clarity, Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Planview, or similar platforms.
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $74,000 - $95,000 based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $89,000 - $104,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits including but not limited to:
