Traveling Data Center Technician
Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
Outsource is seeking an experienced Traveling Data Center Technicians to support data center cable installation and maintenance projects across Texas and Louisiana, with home base in Kansas City, Kansas. This role is ideal for a skilled technician with 5+ years of structured cabling experience who is comfortable with extended travel assignments. Immediate availability is preferred to support ongoing project timelines in the region.

Job Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling including fiber optic and copper cable in data center environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and cable pathway diagrams
- Label, dress, and route cabling to meet industry and client standards
- Travel to project sites in Texas and Louisiana on a recurring basis
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and connectivity issues under time constraints
- Coordinate with project leads and site managers to meet installation schedules
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and testing results
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a cable technician, with data center installation experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper cable termination and testing
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and cable schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to job sites in Texas and Louisiana
- Comfortable working in data center environments, including elevated platforms and confined spaces
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay range of $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and project requirements
