Job DescriptionStart Your Career in Security with a Company That Values Reliability

Looking for an opportunity to enter the security field or put your existing experience to work? Enterprise Security Services Corporation is recruiting Unarmed Security Officers to help maintain safe, professional environments at client properties throughout the Richmond area. As a women-owned and minority-owned security services provider with more than 30 years of industry experience, we understand that effective security begins with attentive people, sound judgment, and a commitment to doing the job right.
We welcome both experienced officers and individuals who are new to the profession. If you are dependable, willing to learn, and take pride in being responsible for your assigned duties, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Your Work Environment

Our officers support a variety of client properties, including retail establishments, commercial buildings, and community locations in and around Richmond, Virginia.
Because assignments depend on client coverage requirements, officers may work at different locations over time. Candidates should be comfortable adapting to site-specific procedures and traveling reliably to their designated work locations.

Your Day-to-Day Duties

As part of the security team, you will help prevent security concerns, identify potential risks, and provide a professional point of contact for people at the property.

  • Deter potential security threats: Maintain a noticeable and professional presence to discourage theft and help prevent unsafe conditions.

  • Conduct property checks: Patrol assigned areas and verify that entrances, exits, and other relevant access points remain secure.

  • Identify and report concerns: Watch for suspicious behavior, unusual activity, and safety hazards, escalating concerns through the appropriate channels.

  • Assist the public: Respond courteously to questions from customers, visitors, employees, and other individuals at the site.

  • Manage incidents appropriately: Remain composed during emergencies or unexpected situations and follow established response procedures.

  • Complete required documentation: Record daily activities and incidents in clear, accurate reports.

  • Maintain effective communication: Keep site management informed of relevant developments and contact emergency services when circumstances require it.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in candidates who take their responsibilities seriously and can follow instructions consistently, even when working independently.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) unarmed security officer registration or be eligible and willing to obtain the required registration.

  • Meet Virginia's minimum age and eligibility requirements for security registration.

  • Successfully pass the required criminal background check.

  • Have reliable transportation to reach assigned client sites throughout the Richmond area.

  • Be willing to learn and consistently follow site-specific instructions and security procedures.

  • Be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

New to security? You are welcome to apply. Previous security experience is not required. Training and guidance will be provided to help candidates understand their responsibilities and assigned procedures.

Pay, Scheduling and Growth Opportunities

We offer several advantages for candidates looking for dependable security work and opportunities to gain experience.

  • Weekly pay: Payments follow the company's established payroll schedule.

  • Flexible scheduling: Available shifts may offer options to accommodate personal commitments, depending on client coverage requirements.

  • Additional work opportunities: Officers may have the opportunity to accept extra shifts at other client locations.

  • Career progression: Additional responsibilities and advancement opportunities may become available as our assignments expand.

Specific pay rates and shift availability can be discussed during the hiring process.

Uniform and Equipment Standards

Officers must wear a clean, professional Class A black uniform and be able to obtain the required uniform before beginning an assignment. Job-related equipment may be issued according to the needs of the assigned site.

Maintaining a professional appearance and following all uniform and equipment instructions are expected throughout employment.

Shift Availability

Client coverage requirements may include:

  • Daytime shifts
