We are seeking a Senior Node.js Developer with strong hands-on experience building scalable backend services and APIs, preferably within healthcare, payer, provider, or life sciences environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Node.js, cloud-native architectures, and healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Node.js.

Build and optimize RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for healthcare applications.

Integrate with healthcare systems such as EHR/EMR, claims platforms, member portals, and third-party APIs.

Implement secure data handling practices to ensure HIPAA and PHI compliance.

Work closely with product managers, frontend teams, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices.

Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture decisions.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.

Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

Strong experience with Node.js (Express, NestJS, or similar frameworks).

Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.

Experience building microservices and API-based architectures.

Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event loop, and non-blocking I/O.

Experience with databases:

SQL: PostgreSQL, MySQL

NoSQL: MongoDB, DynamoDB

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Strong understanding of authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT).

Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and error handling.
Healthcare Domain Experience

Prior experience working in healthcare, payer, provider, or life sciences domains.

Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, PHI/PII data handling.

Experience integrating with healthcare systems (EHR/EMR, claims, eligibility, enrollment).
