Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Technician. The Test Technician will conduct customer testing services according to applicable standards and established procedures across all CAPE test centers. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and quality deliverables while working closely with external customers and internal teams (engineering, quality, sales) to facilitate and implement tests.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with CAPE functions to design and install fixtures, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and ATDs to generate quality test data.
• Review test requests and documentation for clarity and completeness prior to setup.
• Perform duties in compliance with IMMI safety policies, SOPs, CAPE quality manual, and code of conduct.
• Maintain equipment calibration, perform required maintenance, and document accordingly.
• Review test data prior to reporting; analyze and evaluate modes or causes of failure when applicable.
• Provide feedback on SOPs, documentation, and procedures to improve quality and productivity; notify CAPE quality of incidents or trends.
• Operate and maintain proficiency in test center equipment and machines (mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, data acquisition), ensuring safe and effective use.
• Stay current with technology and participate in cross-functional teams to develop or enhance testing capabilities.
• Assist with CAPE tours, explaining equipment and testing procedures while safeguarding confidential information.
• Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information, products, and innovations.
• Travel as needed for training, seminars, or off-site customer testing (including air travel); must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to drive long distances.
• Provide after-hours or weekend coverage when required to support testing and meet project deadlines

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Associate’s degree in technology or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of hand tools and assembly of complex components/test setups.
• Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office and related applications).
• Physical capability to perform non-desk work: standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 40 lbs), grasping, observing, repetitive motions.
• Must maintain IMMI forklift and pyrotechnic licenses.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate electronics, tools, technology, software, and programming, with necessary licenses or certifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Commitment to legal and corporate responsibilities.

Required Tools:

• Hand & Power Tools: Wrenches, torque tools, precision measurement devices.
• Test Systems & Instrumentation: Fixtures, ATDs, sensors, data acquisition systems.
• Machines & Controls: Mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic test equipment.
• Software: Microsoft Office, test control/data analysis software.
• Safety Equipment: Forklift, pyrotechnic tools (licenses required), PPE.
• Documentation Tools: Calibration and reporting systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to visually inspect and interpret designs on screen and in print.
• Physical capability to perform non-desk work: standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), grasping, observing, repetitive
  motions.
• Use of functional Core Tools

Working Conditions/Environment:

• This work is deadline-oriented, requires multitasking, fluctuating work schedule, and flexibility within the workday.
• Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
• Requires the ability for close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
• Requires working and interacting with others, both in person and through phone, electronic, and written correspondence, and the ability to listen effectively, communicate clearly, maintain attention to detail, and perform focused work.
• When in the warehouse, this position requires working with dirt/dust and noise. The use of a variety of proper PPE is required to provide a safe working environment.
• Requires continuous motion throughout the day, utilization of tools, equipment, and industrial vehicles, the ability to lift 50lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks as deemed necessary.
• This position requires working with various temperature conditions

Compensation Classification:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (subject to review based on actual job duties and compensation)

Location:

• Westfield, Indiana
• Travel may be required (International if necessary)
