Every member of our team plays an important role in supporting that mission.What's Your Day Like?No two days are exactly alike.As a Maintenance Technician, you'll perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the shelter while responding quickly to unexpected repairs that affect resident safety and daily operations.Your responsibilities may include:

• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, flooring, doors, locks, windows, and other building systems.
• Completing preventive maintenance to keep the facility operating safely and efficiently.
• Preparing resident rooms for new families through rapid room turnovers, including painting, patching walls, replacing fixtures, repairing damages, changing locks, and ensuring rooms are clean and move-in ready.
• Maintaining exterior grounds through seasonal upkeep, snow removal, landscaping, and litter removal.
• Inspecting the facility to identify maintenance or safety concerns before they become larger problems.
• Working closely with shelter staff to prioritize maintenance requests and support daily shelter operations.
• Responding to emergency maintenance situations, including water leaks, utility outages, and other urgent building issues.
• Coordinating with contractors and vendors while maintaining accurate work order documentation.

Your regular schedule will be Monday through Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergencies.Every day brings new challenges, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and making a meaningful difference.What Matters MostSuccess in this position requires someone who is dependable, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while remaining part of a collaborative team.You should enjoy solving problems, communicating effectively with coworkers, and taking pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.The ideal candidate will have:

• Trade or technical school training preferred, along with at least 3 years of maintenance or mechanical experience, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, flooring, locks, doors, windows, and general building systems.
• The ability to independently diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• The ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment where resident safety comes first.
• An adequate set of personal hand tools.
• A valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
• An operable vehicle and proof of insurance.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• HVAC certification is a plus but not required.
