Summary Objective

The Quality Manager is responsible to work as part of Project Management Team to provide the quality supervision during design, procurement, manufacturing, and test activities on Stellar Energy projects. The major objective of the position is to lead and manage day-to-day quality activities to ensure the Stellar Energy fabricated modules meet project delivery goals. The Quality Manager is also responsible for maintaining the Stellar Energy Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure overall ISO compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Establish, implement, and provide leadership and training in the maintenance of Stellar Energy quality management system.
  • Review quality specifications for project and proposal.
  • Establish field inspection program with appropriate procedures and forms or review and comment on contractors proposed procedure.
  • Perform site inspection on field activities and material and coordinate inspections by other parties. Provide third party review of destructive/non-destructive test results and data.
  • Audit subcontractor quality system/program, including installation/inspection/testing procedures and records, engineering document control, and non-conformance tracking and resolution.
  • Assist in the supplier evaluation and selection process.
  • Witness or provide for the witnessing of field testing of systems and equipment including tolerance checks or other inspections as specified in the quality control inspection procedures.
  • Interact with external customers for quality issues; complaints, QMS questions, surveys.
  • Maintain good interface with other disciplines.
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Supervisory Responsibility
The position is responsible to manage and direct Quality Engineers day-to-day activities.

Work Location

This position will work out of our facilities in Fort Worth, TX. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to the Manufacturing Shop for observation and support may be necessary, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory head protection.


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel
Anticipated 25% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary.

Required Education and Experience.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial QA/QC or similar projects working experience.
  • Certified ISO9001 internal auditor, familiar with ISO9001 system.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Familiar with quality systems, process control, Lean, SPC control tool, etc.
  • Familiar with selection and technical requirement of general mechanical equipment including pumps, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good responsibility, good teamwork spirit.

Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
