HiFyve is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor in the Cement / Construction Materials Manufacturing industry in Blue Island, IL!
Salary: $31–$36/hour (DOE)
Shift: Day Shift | 8-hour shift (Flexible)
Location: On-site | Blue Island, IL
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and develop maintenance technicians and other maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities and prioritize work based on production needs, equipment reliability, and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other industrial equipment, including vacuum systems, hoppers, mixers, augers, conveyors, and wrapping machines.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production interruptions.
- Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance, equipment installations, plant shutdowns, and major repairs.
- Partner with Production and Operations leadership to address recurring equipment issues and improve plant uptime.
- Monitor maintenance work orders, maintain spare parts and supplies, and ensure maintenance activities are properly documented.
- Train and mentor maintenance employees on troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and safe work practices.
- Support contractor coordination, capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Technical degree, industrial maintenance certification, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with previous maintenance leadership, supervisory, or lead experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and industrial machinery/production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls is preferred.
- CMMS experience and welding/fabrication skills are preferred.
- Experience in cement, aggregate, concrete, building materials, mining, chemical, steel, or other heavy/process manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience managing maintenance during planned plant shutdowns is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
