Position Overview
\n
Brooksource is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our client’s Infrastructure Security team. This team installs, maintains, and supports the computer and software systems used to manage critical physical security operations.
\n
\n
The Systems Administrator will help ensure that servers and applications remain available, secure, and reliable across development, production, and disaster recovery environments. This position requires close collaboration with Corporate Security stakeholders, business partners, vendors, and IT teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Analyze the technology and system needs of the Corporate Security organization.
- Install, configure, maintain, and validate servers and software applications.
- Support systems across development, production, and disaster recovery environments.
- Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and security.
- Detect, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, application, and connectivity issues.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and routine maintenance.
- Coordinate with IT teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Maintain system access, permissions, and security controls in accordance with organizational standards.
- Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Respond to incidents and service requests while communicating progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
\n

- At least three years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related technical role.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based servers and applications.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and user-access management.
- Experience troubleshooting server, software, network connectivity, and performance issues.
- Familiarity with system monitoring, patching, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
- Understanding of infrastructure and information security principles.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to production issues.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting systems used for physical security, access control, video surveillance, or other critical operational functions.
- Experience working with virtualized server environments.
- Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting and automation tools.
- Experience supporting highly available or business-critical applications.
- Knowledge of change management, incident management, and IT service management practices.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, or security certification.
