Job Description A nonprofit organization is seeking an Affordable Housing Assistant Property Manager to support daily operations across its affordable housing portfolio. This role focuses on resident relations, leasing, annual recertifications, and rent collection while helping ensure properties are well-managed and residents receive responsive service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in making a positive impact in the community.
Compensation & Highlights:
- $45,000-$60,000 per year, based on experience
- Temporary-to-permanent
Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:
- Assist with leasing, property tours, and processing applications.
- Keep documentation accurate and stay in clear communication with tenants and prospects.
- Help prepare initial and interim tenant recertifications under LIHTC, Section 8, and HUD guidelines.
- Act as the go-to contact for residents, answering questions and helping resolve community concerns.
- Support rent collection, post payments, and help manage minor account delinquencies.
Qualifications of the Assistant Property Manager:
- 1-2+ years of property management or strong residential administrative experience.
- An affordable housing background is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, or Fair Housing regulations preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, customer-first approach.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or MRI is highly preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred (Spanish and English)
