IT Systems Engineer 3 (Senior)
Position Overview
The IT Systems Engineer 3 (Senior) provides enterprise systems engineering and administration across hybrid environments, ensuring operational efficiency, system security, and compliance with federal IT standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform systems engineering and administration for on-prem and cloud environments
- Manage Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, including MFA and conditional access
- Evaluate and improve IT architecture and system configurations
- Implement STIGs, patch management, and vulnerability mitigation strategies
- Support Azure cloud infrastructure and VMware environments
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Install and maintain servers, storage, and networking equipment
- Support compliance with FISMA and cybersecurity directives
- Document system configurations and operational procedures
- Participate in system integration and modernization projects
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in IT systems engineering
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, VMware, and Cisco networks
- Strong background in federal IT compliance and system security
- Proven ability to support enterprise IT operations with minimal supervision
Required Skills
- Expertise in cloud and on-prem systems integration
- Knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN), virtualization, and system architecture
- Proficiency in PowerShell and automation tools
- Experience with patching, monitoring, and system hardening
Certifications
- Preferred:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Engineer
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+
- VMware Certification (VCP)
Clearance Requirement
- Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
