What You’ll Be Doing As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll help ensure the facility remains safe, functional, well-maintained, and compliant. Responsibilities include:
- Complete assigned work orders and preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot and perform routine repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Assist with basic HVAC-related maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support facility inspections, safety checks, and fire/life safety compliance activities
- Assist with equipment moves, minor installations, and facility improvement projects
- Identify maintenance needs that require licensed or specialized trades and escalate them appropriately
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and preventive maintenance
- Follow established safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate professionally with facility staff, leadership, and other team members
- Participate in an on-call rotation when required
- Assist with additional maintenance and facility needs as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 1 year of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
- Working knowledge of general building maintenance, including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Carpentry
- Mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, drawings, and safety instructions
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use work order and maintenance tracking systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Dependable, proactive, and able to adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently while knowing when a repair requires additional or specialized support
License & Certification Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must have or be willing and able to obtain OSHA 10 – General Industry certification within the first six months of employment
- Additional maintenance or trade-related certifications are highly preferred but not required
Schedule This is an hourly position. Scheduling may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, and emergency response based on facility needs.
