Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of machinery and equipment, including heating elements, rollers, cutters, automation systems, cranes, motors, computers, and related components.
• Work primarily with machines in a non-operational or “cold” state for most troubleshooting and repair activities to ensure safe and accurate maintenance.

• Follow and enforce proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during all maintenance activities to maintain a safe work environment.
• Carry out electrical troubleshooting and repairs on industrial equipment, including three-phase systems, motors, and control circuits.

• Perform PLC troubleshooting, including working with automation systems and Siemens PLCs, to resolve control and communication issues.
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production departments to ensure equipment runs efficiently and meets operational targets.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, plant regulations, and industrial maintenance best practices during every task.
• Perform physically demanding work, including accessing machines in tight spaces, climbing stairs, and handling tools and equipment.

• Support maintenance production activities by ensuring machines are properly maintained, adjusted, and ready for operation.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and handle dirty equipment and components as part of routine maintenance work.

• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of industrial machinery and components.
• Strong electrical skills, including experience with industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of motors, three-phase power, and control systems.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing issues and resolving them independently from start to finish, without requiring constant supervision.
• Proficiency with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and commitment to following them consistently for all maintenance activities.
• Experience in industrial maintenance or a manufacturing maintenance technician role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to interpret and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and technical documentation.
• Comfort working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems in an industrial environment.
• Capability to perform PLC troubleshooting, including work with automation systems and Siemens PLCs.
• Physical ability to work in tight spaces, climb stairs, lift equipment, and perform sustained physical labor.
• Ability to work in hot environments with temperatures up to 125°ree;F while maintaining safety and productivity.
• Availability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a food-grade or similar manufacturing environment.
• Welding skills and experience performing welding tasks in support of equipment repair and fabrication (preferred but not required).
• Experience with HVAC systems in an industrial setting.
• Background in machine maintenance and maintenance production support.
• Familiarity with cranes, automation equipment, and computer-based control systems.
• Comfort working with high-temperature fluids and dirty equipment in a production facility.
