We are seeking an experienced NICET Level III Fire Alarm Technician who takes pride in their work, values customer relationships, and is ready to contribute to a high-performing team.
Position Summary
The Fire Alarm Technician III serves as a senior field technician responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems.
- Program and commission fire alarm control panels and related devices.
- Perform annual, semi-annual, and quarterly inspections in accordance with NFPA standards.
- Diagnose complex system issues and provide effective solutions.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics.
- Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and deficiency reports.
- Interface professionally with customers, contractors, AHJs, and project managers.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA, NEC, local codes, and company standards.
- Support project turnover, customer training, and system acceptance testing.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- NICET Level III Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Minimum 5 years of fire alarm industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and applicable fire codes.
- Experience with installation, programming, and troubleshooting of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical drawings.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Siemens, Edwards, Bosch, or other major fire alarm platforms.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience working on federal, municipal, healthcare, education, or large commercial projects.
- Additional NICET certifications or licenses.
