Project Estimator
Wylander, a recruiting company specializing in the disaster restoration industry, is recruiting a Project Estimator for a full-service restoration company located in Alexandria.
Project Estimator Compensation and Benefits:

The Project Estimator inspects and scopes residential and commercial restoration projects, documents damage, and hands off the scope to an internal Desk Estimator for Xactimate estimate preparation. This is a sales-focused role, primarily responsible for building customer relationships, presenting estimates, following up on opportunities, and closing jobs.
Project Estimator Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections and accurately scope residential and commercial restoration projects.
- Document damages through measurements, photographs, and detailed notes.
- Work closely with the Desk Estimator to ensure accurate Xactimate estimates.
- Present estimates to customers, negotiate pricing and scope, and secure signed contracts.
- Drive sales through consistent follow-up and strong closing skills.
- Build and maintain relationships with property owners, insurance adjusters, and referral partners.
- Manage the sales process from initial inspection through project approval.
- Coordinate a smooth handoff of sold projects to the production team.
Project Estimator Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in restoration, construction estimating, or construction sales.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial restoration and reconstruction.
- Proven sales ability with a strong focus on closing jobs and generating revenue.
- Ability to accurately scope projects; Xactimate knowledge preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly motivated, organized, and results-driven.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sales opportunities.
