Work Now Staffing is looking to hire Maintenance Technicians for our McCook client.
Shift: 1st Shift - 5:00am - 5:00pm, Wednesday - Friday and every other Saturday
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Job Summary:
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial printing equipment throughout the facility
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical equipment issues to minimize production downtime
- Provide technical support for printing equipment, including hardware, software, PCs, and wireless networking components
- Identify cost-effective repair solutions while maintaining equipment performance and reliability
- Prioritize maintenance requests and respond promptly to urgent equipment issues
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to repair, adjust, and maintain industrial machinery
- Collaborate with plant personnel and management to identify and implement effective solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending new maintenance techniques and procedures
- Apply fact-based problem-solving methods to troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following established safety procedures
- Provide maintenance support outside regular working hours when necessary
- Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- General knowledge of industrial printing equipment and print production processes
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and technical equipment malfunctions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced production environment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production and management teams
- Ability to climb ladders when necessary to perform equipment maintenance and repairs
- Strong organizational skills and strategic thinking abilities
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic and/or servicing industrial printing equipment
- Experience performing mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance
- General understanding of print production operations
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field
- Additional mechanical or technical training
- Previous experience maintaining and repairing industrial printing equipment
- Knowledge of equipment hardware, software, PCs, and wireless networking
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and minimizing production downtime
- Strong analytical skills and ability to implement cost-effective maintenance solutions
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per shift
- Ability to walk for up to 3 hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Intermittent bending for up to 3 hours, including bending the neck, bending at the waist, and twisting at the waist
- Intermittent squatting for up to 3 hours
- Repetitive hand movements for 8–12 hours, including grasping, hand manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to reach above and below shoulder height
- Ability to climb ladders when necessary to access and repair equipment
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with industrial equipment maintenance
