Job Description

As a Security Guard - Overnight Position in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible, professional presence. You will support daily operations with strong communication, customer service, and integrity while working as part of a caring, reliable, and innovative team.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial location.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, and access-controlled areas, noting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns.
Support truck, delivery, and contractor check-in processes as applicable, helping to maintain orderly access flow and adherence to location protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
