Summary:

The Hangar Aviation Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Pilot reports to the Hangar Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the execution of aircraft maintenance and aircraft ground runs and flight checks in accordance with Survival Flight policies and procedures, with 14 CFR Part 135 and Part 145 requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Aviation Maintenance Tech:


• Performing maintenance, inspection, repairs, and alteration tasks on civil aviation
articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers'
maintenance manuals, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins,
Service Letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices
and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and other related
documents.
• Maintain familiarity with the requirements of the Repair Station.
• Be thoroughly familiar with all tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used
within their assigned area of responsibility.
• Maintain support equipment i.e. heliporter, start cart, and oxygen trans-fill systems etc.
• Ensure all maintenance is documented in accordance with Survival Flight policies and
the Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Maintain fuel system as required.
• Traveling to field bases provides maintenance support and vacation relief for the field
bases for up to two weeks at a time.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Aviation Maintenance Pilot:


• Perform ground runs as needed by the maintenance department in accordance with company
established procedures, the Manufactures Maintenance Manual, and the RFM for that aircraft.
• Perform Maintenance Check Flights as requested by the Maintenance Department. Examples
of these flights may be; Track and Balance, Operational Check of specific systems, Penalty
flights, Verification flights for specific flight issues, or any other flights that may be requested
by the maintenance department during Day VFR conditions only.
• Ferry flights to move company aircraft from one location to another.
• Flights in support of the maintenance department, such as flying parts to another location in
support of A.O.G.
• In the role of Maintenance Pilot this person reports to the Maintenance Department for
direction of job duties, and to the Chief Pilot for all flight aspects such as authorizations for
specific flights, such as weather, auto-rotations or any restrictions the Chief Pilot may deem
necessary.
• This person must attend and pass the company's pilot training program with the flight
department and a check ride with the Chief Pilot prior to performing any ground runs or flight
operations. This training must be completed annually.


QUALIFICATIONS:


The qualifications listed are representative of those required to successfully fulfill job
responsibilities.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR HIRE:


• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
• Driver's license.
• Must provide their own hand tools.
• Must possess the ability to take the initiative and follow up on all matters regarding the
aircraft.
• Must have effective communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive
relationships with internal and external customers.
• Intermediate computer skills including but not limited to, MS Office, Internet, and
email.
• Commercial / Instrument Rotorcraft Pilot Certificate.
• Current Pilot second class Medical Certificate.
• 1200 hours total flight time.
• 1000 hours PIC in Helicopter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR HIRE:
• Previous EMS experience.
• Two years of experience working on helicopters.
• 250 hours turbine time.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:


Work will primarily be conducted under general shop conditions with frequent exposure to seasonal weather, aircraft exhaust, vehicle emissions, engine noise, moving mechanical parts, lubricants, metals, and solvents. In order to meet the operational needs of Survival Flight, the
incumbent may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the aircraft and company. Incumbent must be able to walk, stoop, climb, twist, bend, sit, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and move materials up to 80 lbs. without assistance. Incumbent must remain eligible to perform in a FAA safety sensitive position at all times. Must be willing to travel to other Survival flight locations to perform maintenance
