Assistant Project Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects throughout the Atlanta metro. This position will assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of ground-up construction projects, including fire stations, warehouse facilities, and airport-related developments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with all phases of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Track project schedules, procurement activities, and material deliveries.
  • Assist with preparing subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Monitor project costs and help maintain accurate budget reporting.
  • Attend project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Coordinate inspections, permits, and project closeout documentation.
  • Support field operations by working closely with Superintendents to resolve project issues and maintain construction progress.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure timely communication between the project team, owners, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Promote a safe working environment while supporting company quality standards and project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-10 years of experience in commercial construction project management or project engineering.
  • Experience supporting ground-up commercial construction projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with municipal, warehouse/distribution, aviation, or public-sector projects is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and document control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
