Job Title: Data Center Cleaner
Job Description
This role supports a large data center facility by providing thorough cleaning services in an industrial and construction-like environment. You will help maintain a safe, orderly, and hygienic workspace by performing routine and detailed cleaning tasks throughout the site.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in work areas, corridors, and common spaces.
- Wipe down surfaces such as workstations, railings, doors, and other high-touch areas to maintain cleanliness and reduce dust and debris.
- Remove, collect, and properly dispose of garbage and waste materials from designated areas throughout the facility.
- Support cleaning needs in an active construction or industrial environment, ensuring walkways and work areas remain clear and safe.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing cleaning tasks in and around equipment and active work zones.
- Use appropriate cleaning tools and supplies as directed and maintain them in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Report any safety hazards, spills, or unusual conditions to site leadership promptly.
- Collaborate with other team members and leads to ensure all assigned areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and rotation patterns, including day or night shifts, and complete assigned cleaning tasks within required timeframes.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience working in a construction or industrial environment.
- Previous experience in a cleaner, janitorial, or custodial role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and lifting trash bags or debris as needed.
- Capability to work safely in an active industrial or construction setting while following safety protocols.
- Reliability in adhering to shift schedules, including extended hours and rotating weeks.
- Attention to detail to ensure all assigned areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.

- Comfort working in a large facility or data center environment.
- Willingness to work both day and night shifts as needed.
- Ability to take direction from leads and forepersons and work effectively as part of a team.

Work Environment
This position is based in a data center setting with active construction or industrial-style work occurring on site. The environment requires strict adherence to safety practices and the use of personal protective equipment. The employer provides gloves, a hard hat, a high-visibility safety vest, and safety glasses, while you must supply your own steel-toe footwear. Work is performed on a rotating schedule with day shifts typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, following a rotation of two weeks of six 10-hour days and a third week of five 10-hour days. Night shifts follow the same rotation from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The role involves standing, walking, and performing physical cleaning tasks throughout the shift in a busy, industrial-style facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Abilene, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
