Job SummaryWe’re looking for a hardworking Maintenance Technician To provide exceptional customer service, is responsible for performing a variety of routine and preventative maintenance tasks at residential, commercial, or multi-family properties. This role ensures that buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in excellent condition, promoting a safe and comfortable environment for tenants, residents, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and general maintenance of buildings, apartments, and common areas.
Diagnose and repair issues related to:
o Plumbing (e.g., leaks, clogs, fixture replacement)
o Electrical systems (e.g., outlets, light fixtures, breakers)
o HVAC systems (basic troubleshooting and filter changes)
o Appliances and mechanical systems
o Carpentry and drywall repair
o Painting and touch-ups
- Respond promptly to work orders and emergency maintenance calls.
- Completes all required safety, vehicle and other corporate reporting in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Assist with turnover of units between tenants, including cleaning, repairs, and minor renovations.
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior and interior common areas, including trash removal and landscaping support.
- Monitor inventory and request maintenance supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are needed.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs.
- Serves as the on-call Maintenance Technician as a part of a holiday rotation, responding to emergency and after-hours maintenance calls.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- A minimum of three years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other trades with a basic understanding of lighting systems, painting, and roofing.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to perform operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance. Math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) are essential.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to respond to property emergencies.
- Good organizational skills, well-disciplined, able to meet deadlines, and able to take initiative are required.
- Physical stamina, attention to detail, and time management skills are required
- OSHA 30 certified preferred, OSHA 10 required.
