Position Overview
Electronic Security Services, Inc. (ESSI) is expanding our field operations team and seeking Electronic Security Technicians and Installers with low-voltage experience—or a strong desire to learn the trade.
We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented technicians who take pride in their work and want long-term growth in the electronic security industry. Experience with access control, video surveillance, intercoms, networking, or cloud-based systems is highly valued, but we also welcome motivated candidates ready to grow with training and mentorship.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Install, service, and repair access control, video surveillance (IP cameras, NVRs), intercom systems, intrusion alarms, and gate operators
- Work with modern systems such as Brivo access control, Eagle Eye Networks, 2N intercoms, and other leading security platforms
- Perform troubleshooting of hardware, wiring, software, and system communication issues
- Diagnose and resolve networking-related issues (IP addressing, PoE, switches, connectivity)
- Read and interpret system diagrams, wiring schematics, and product manuals
- Replace, repair, or upgrade defective equipment to manufacturer specifications
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, project managers, and other technicians
- Provide professional, solution-focused communication to customers on-site
- Maintain accurate paperwork, job notes, and system documentation
- Keep a clean, organized company vehicle and maintain proper truck inventory
- Safely lift and carry tools and equipment (up to 40 lbs), work on ladders/lifts, and in confined spaces as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with electronic security systems preferred (access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercoms, gates)
- Low-voltage wiring experience (CAT5/6, RS-485, reader wiring, door hardware integration)
- Familiarity with IP-based systems and basic networking is a plus
- Experience with Brivo, Eagle Eye, 2N, or similar platforms is a strong plus—but not required
- Ability to troubleshoot logically and follow technical documentation
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and professional on-site demeanor
Education & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Trade school or technical training a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
Schedule
- Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Overtime available
- Full-time, long-term opportunity
