NOW HIRING: Shift Sergeants, 2 Positions (One Salaried,One Hourly)
Excelsior Protection Group | Buffalo, Rochester & Syracuse, NY
Excelsior Protection Group, a veteran and first-responder-owned security and emergency management company, is promoting from within and seeking 2 qualified Shift Sergeants to join our supervisory team.
Compensation: DOE hourly between 20-26 to start and 50-60k starting per year, based on experience and qualifications. first raise eligible after 30 days.
Position Summary
Shift Sergeants provide frontline leadership, ensuring site coverage, officer accountability, and a high standard of service for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support officers on assigned shifts and sites
- Ensure post coverage, punctuality, and compliance with all policies and client post orders
- Respond to call-outs and coverage gaps, including on short notice
- Travel between sites as needed to provide on-site supervision and support
- Review reports, handle incidents, and communicate with management and clients
- Mentor and coach officers
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Extensive experience in the security industry
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Current NYS Security Guard registration (Article 7-A) and required training
- Flexibility is vital to this role. You must be available for varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and last-minute coverage needs.
- Reliable, trusted transportation is essential. You must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation to reach sites on time and respond to coverage needs.
- Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills
