Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Network Engineer to support and maintain critical enterprise networking operations for a real estate property and facilities management environment. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can monitor network health, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver dependable support across a complex infrastructure. The role requires strong technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage incidents efficiently while partnering with broader engineering teams when advanced support is needed.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor network availability and performance using SolarWinds, responding to alerts and identifying issues before they disrupt business operations.
• Administer and troubleshoot Cisco switching environments to maintain reliable connectivity across enterprise locations.
• Support, configure, and investigate security and traffic issues involving Palo Alto firewalls in a live production setting.
• Diagnose network incidents independently, take corrective action, and restore service within established support expectations.
• Document work, track progress, and manage issue resolution through the ServiceNow ticketing platform.
• Escalate high-impact or technically complex problems to network engineering resources with clear findings and supporting details.
• Provide operational support for enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, firewall, and switching components.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide status updates, explain technical issues, and deliver a high level of customer service.• Proven background supporting enterprise network operations in a production environment.
• Strong experience with SolarWinds for network monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis.
• Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto firewall administration and troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of Cisco networking, including switch support and issue resolution.
• Experience working within a ServiceNow-based support or incident management environment.
• Ability to analyze network problems independently and determine effective solutions.
• Familiarity with routing technologies and platforms such as Cisco routers, Cisco ASA, and BGP.
• Strong communication skills combined with a customer-focused support approach.
