Job Description Director of Property Management | Kansas City, MO Direct Hire | $90,000-110,000 annually LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting our client within the real estate/property management space to identify an experienced Director of Property Management. This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys overseeing property operations, developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring a high level of service across a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong property management experience along with a leadership mindset and the ability to balance day-to-day operations with larger strategic initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and oversight for property management operations across a portfolio of properties
- Lead, mentor, and develop property management and support teams
- Establish consistent processes, procedures, and best practices across the portfolio
- Monitor property performance, budgets, expenses, occupancy, and operational goals
- Partner with ownership and senior leadership on portfolio strategy and property initiatives
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, maintenance coordination, and service standards
- Ensure properties are operating in accordance with applicable policies, regulations, and company standards
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, resident/tenant experience, and overall property performance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial review
- Serve as an escalation point for complex property, tenant/resident, vendor, and operational matters
- Support new property transitions, acquisitions, or portfolio growth as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We're looking for a hands-on leader who can see both the big picture and the day-to-day details. Someone who can step into an established operation, build strong relationships with their team, identify opportunities for improvement, and help create scalable processes as the organization continues to grow.
- Several years of progressive property management experience, including leadership responsibility
- Experience overseeing multiple properties or a larger portfolio strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead and develop property management teams
- Strong understanding of property operations, budgeting, vendor management, and financial performance
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship-building skills with owners, residents/tenants, vendors, and internal partners
- Experience with property management software and reporting tools preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant industry experience will also be considered
Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
