Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. The Club was listed as #1 Golf Course renovation in Avid Golfer Magazine's 2019 Private Clubs and named Best Overall Club in 2022-2024. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.

We are currently looking for a facility maintenance person who can provide daily repair and maintenance services for all aspects of the operation, including offices, public spaces, restroom facilities, kitchen, pool, grounds and other areas as required. Expereince with HVAC, electrical, commercial appliances, plumbing, painting and other maintenance is preferred. Applicant must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs general repairs and maintenance for all areas within the operation including but not limited to: electrical, HVAC, boilers, mechanical, pool, and structural aspects of the buildings, commercial equipment and grounds.
  • Maintains cleanliness and appearance of exterior of the facility including not limited to: emptying trash cans, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and arranging furniture.
  • Maintenance of outdoor cameras, lighting, and other electrical access.
  • Identify and report to supervisor when supplies are needed.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Must be able to operate and drive a golf cart
  • Comply with all Safety policies of the Club as well as federal laws pertaining to OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Attends staff meetings when required

Education/Experience: High school education; or up to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: English required as applicant may be required: to read a limited number or two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts or carries up to 50 pounds. Able to climb ladders and work on roof tops.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment/Noise: Frequently works in wet and humid conditions and near moving mechanical parts. Frequently may be required to work in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least age 18. Certification/Liscense in HVAC, electrical and pool preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the employee may be required to communicate with English speaking members or co-workers, the manuals for equipment the employee may use are in English).
