Hydra Systems, Inc. is currently seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) for a full-time position with benefits. Selected candidates will perform various Collateral, SCI, and security management duties, including, but not limited to, FSO / AFSO / CSO / CPSO / ITPSO / and Security Education, Awareness & Training Manager in support of multiple clients, primarily DoD/DoW, in Northern Virginia.

The FSO will oversee the facility, personnel, and security in support of Government security requirements, and will be responsible for executing procedures and processes to provide physical protection for personnel and government property, as well as administering day‐to‐day security programs and risk mitigation activities. The FSO will support and conduct internal security investigations in accordance with customer legal and policy requirements and will provide guidance and recommendations to customer leadership on personal and physical security matters, including security training, regulatory requirements, security policies and procedures, and emerging trends in physical and personal security.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of comprehensive industrial security experience as an FSO or AFSO and will possess expert knowledge of security practices, advanced techniques, and solutions, and will recommend and implement new security solutions, processes, policies, and standards in support of the overall program security strategy and operations.

FSO duties and responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Ensuring strict adherence to the provisions of the 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM Rule, its Supplement, ICDs, and applicable DoD and SCI policies.
  • Developing and executing policies and procedures for safeguarding information from CUI/CDI/FCI through collateral and up to TS//SCI.
  • Coordinating and communicating with company and customer leadership on security matters of significant importance to the organization and program.
  • Providing day‐to‐day security support, including continuous assessment of security procedures to identify shortfalls and recommend improvements to security policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Identifying vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to test, training, and operational activities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Developing, implementing, and delivering Security Education, Awareness & Training Manager in support of multiple clients
  • Briefing personnel at all levels—military, government, and senior civilian—on a variety of security‐related topics supporting the DoD/DoW and IC that have specific security requirements about the classified programs they each are supporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must currently possess and maintain a U.S. TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance with SCI Access Eligibility (TS/ICD-704).
  • Working proficiency with DCSA security support systems, including ACCS, DISS, NBIS, NISS, and NCAISS.
  • Current and active FSO Certification for Possessing Facilities.
  • Experience with SCI processes, requirements, and programs.
  • Educated in applicable federal laws, Presidential Directives, Executive Orders, Intelligence Community Directives, and 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM Rule.
  • Working knowledge to provide sound guidance to customer-cleared employees, based on the requirements under 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM Rule, Intelligence Community Directives, and any other customer regulations regarding personnel and security reporting requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of directly relevant security experience, including experience working with DoD/DoW programs
  • Demonstrable success conducting or supporting DCSA security review assessments, preferably passing at the “Commendable” level.
  • Ability to form trusted relationships with DCSA officials and other government agency security organizations based upon performance and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic corporate environment with sometimes fast-moving security needs and to interact with a wide range of company, DoD/DoW, and IC personnel to meet mission requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while also serving as an engaged, focused, collaborative team player.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Windows OS tools.
  • Fully reliable and consistently delivers quality results with limited supervision
